History:For the first 19 years of her life, nothing happened to Rose Tyler. She was born on April 27, 1987 to Jackie and Pete Tyler. Her given name is Rose Marion Tyler. For school she attended Jericho Street Junior School and Jericho Street Comprehensive. She was an athletic girl, joining the gymnastics team. Sadly she dropped out because of a boy, Jimmy Stone, with whom the romance failed. At 19 Rose and her mother lived at the Powell Estate in South London. She worked for Henrick’s Department Store on London’s Regent Street.
The first time she met The Doctor was on New Year’s 2005, which was at the end of his regeneration as the 10th Doctor (timey wimey stuff) but she didn’t really get to know him till they met again later in 2005 (the 9th Doctor that time). That night, however, The Doctor was there to say goodbye, although she never knew it. He told her that she was going to have a very good year and she wished him well with a smile on her face, walking into Powell Estate.
What The Doctor predicted for her came to pass later in 2005 when, while in the basement of Henrick’s, she was set upon by the Autons. The 9th Doctor came to her rescue, having tracked the Autons to the basement. He introduced himself as The Doctor and sent her off with the instructions to “Run for your life!” which she did, taking one of the Auton’s arms with her. The next day The Doctor showed up in her pet door looking for plastic, almost mistaking her for a plastic. She dragged him inside, trying to get an explanation from him as to what happened. After a run in with the Auton’s hand she had taken home she followed him outside trying to first ask, then threaten, and then questioning him obsessively about who he is and what is going on. He explained the Autons plot to overthrow the world to her, which she only half believed, then got into a strange blue box and disappeared.
After that encounter Rose went to her boyfriend Mickey’s house and researched The Doctor on the internet that led her to a website made by Clive Fintch. She set up an in-person meeting with Clive at his home where he shared with her his theories over who The Doctor was. Rose left, dismissing him as a ‘nutter’. Unbeknown to her, while she was in Clive’s home, Mickey had been captured by an Auton and duplicated.
The Doctor came back into her life not soon after she left Clive’s, saving her from the Mickey-Auton at a pizza place. In order to get away from the Auton (and I think to see the shock on her face) The Doctor invited her into the TARDIS and followed the signal in the Auton’s head, till it melted. If it wasn’t for Rose, The Doctor wouldn’t have found where the Nestene Consciousness was hiding. Also if not for Rose, with her gymnastic skills, the Nestene Consciousness wouldn’t have been defeated.
To thank her for her help The Doctor invited Rose to travel with him in the TARDIS which “goes anywhere in the universe”. She initially declined the offer but when he returned and informed her that the TARDIS traveled in time as well she left with him.
In her travels with the 9th Doctor she sees the end of the Earth in the year 5 billion, stop an invasion from the Gelth with the help of Charles Dickens, and stop the family of Slitheen from destroying the Earth. She would also go on to wake up the last of The Doctor’s mortal enemies, a Dalek and halts the control of the Mighty Jagrafess of the Holy Hadrojassic Maxardenfoe in the year 200,000 (aboard Satellite 5).
Then she asked The Doctor for a favor, she wanted to go back in her time to the day her father died so she could be there for her father. The Doctor took her back but the first time she witnessed the accident she found she could not go to him, to overwhelmed. The Doctor allows her to try again but this time, instead of just going to her father as he was dying, she saved his life. This causes a time paradox which threatens to consume the world. It is only through the actions of Pete Tyler, sacrificing himself by allowing the driver to hit him, that order is restored and the time line is put right. Rose stays with her father while he died, saying an emotional goodbye.
Then came Jack Harkness. While chasing a ship through the time vortex The Doctor and Rose find themselves in London during the World War II blitz. While The Doctor goes into a nearby cabaret Rose climbs up on a roof to try to help a boy. While climbing up she uses a rope, which is attached to a barrage balloon. The rope comes undone from the roof and with her hanging onto it, they float up over London during a German bombing raid. If not for the timely assistance of one Captain Jack Harkness, Rose would have fallen to her doom. Jack saves her with a well-timed tractor beam and tries to con her into buying what he claims is a Chula warship (the ship that she and The Doctor were chasing through the time vortex). The “Chula warship” turns out to be an ambulance which is causing people all over London to turn into gas mask wearing zombies. Thanks to The Doctor’s assistance, the zombies are turned back into humans and Jack stops a bomb from going off and destroying the ambulance just in time. After this adventure The Doctor and Rose invite Jack to join them on the TARDIS, which he agrees to because the bomb on his ship is about to explode, which would kill him.
From the past, The Doctor, Rose, and Jack, go to modern day Cardiff to recharge the TARDIS from the rift that runs through Cardiff. Here, with the help of Mickey, they stop Margaret Blane, the last of the Slitheen, from initiating a nuclear meltdown. During the adventure Margaret gets turned back into an egg, and The Doctor, Rose, and Jack take her back to Raxacoricofallapatorius so that she could begin her life over again.
When next she wakes, she finds herself on the set of The Weakest Link, but instead of Anne Robinson as the host there is an Anne Droid in her place. She is forced to play in the game, it becoming deadly at the end of the first vote when the Anne Droid disintegrates the contestant who is voted off. As she was losing the game, therefor facing disintergration herself, The Doctor and Jack broke into the studio. She began running toward them as the Anne Droid disintegrated her into a pile of dust. Luckly the disintegration was actually a transporter beam, which sent her to the mother ship of a nearby Dalek fleet. The Doctor and Jack take the TARDIS against the Dalek fleet and rescue Rose, bringing her back to Satellite 5. From there The Doctor, building a Delta Wave generator, tricks Rose into the TARDIS and using his sonic screwdriver, sent the TARDIS and Rose back to London. Rose, refusing to keep herself apart from The Doctor, sees the words Bad Wolf all over the area where the TARDIS was. She begins to remember seeing those words all over the universe on her and The Doctor’s travels. She, with the help of Mickey and Jackie, open the heart of the TARDIS , goes back to Satellite 5 to save The Doctor, having taken the time vortex into herself. She does rescue The Doctor and even brings Captain Jack back to life (making him a fixed point in time and space). She disintergrates the Dalek fleet into atoms, destroying most of them. Just before she burns to death from the vortex power, The Doctor kisses her and takes it into himself, sending it back into the heart of the TARDIS. They head out into the time vortex as The Doctor regenerates from the 9th Doctor into the 10th Doctor.
Back on Earth it’s Christmas and The Doctor brings the TARDIS to a bumpy landing outside Jackie Tyler’s apartment complex. The Doctor then goes into a deep sleep, recovering from his regeneration. Rose brings him about for a few moments by asking him to save her from a rogue Christmas tree, which he does with his sonic screwdriver. The Doctor then falls back into the sleep, his condition deteriorating, as the Earth is invaded by the Sycorax. Rose tries to move her mother, Mickey, and The Doctor into the TARDIS for safety. When the Sycorax find the TARDIS and bring it onboard their ship, Jackie is left behind. Aboard the ship is also the Prime Minister, Harriet Jones, and her assistant. Rose tries to intimidate the Sycorax into leaving Earth, which fails, when The Doctor (thanks to tea) comes out and saves the day.
From Earth Rose and The Doctor head out to New Earth (New, New, New, New, New, New, New, New, New, New, New, New, New, New, New, New York) where they met up with Lady Cassandra again (previously from the destruction of Earth) who steals Rose’s body, then The Doctors, then Rose again (continuing on this way with a sick patient at the hospital in between) while The Doctor saves lots of clones from being cat experiments. From there they go back in time, saving Queen Victoria from werewolves (and in the process gets a royal title before being banished).
As their adventures continue on Rose gets to meet Sarah Jane Smith, one of the many previous companions of The Doctor. At first she and Sarah Jane do not get along, both jealous about the other’s relationship with The Doctor, but soon they find common ground and become friends. At the end of their adventures (stopping the Krillitanes from coming up with the theory of everything) Mickey decides to join Rose and The Doctor on the TARDIS, much to the chagrin of Rose.
From Earth the trio find themselves aboard a spaceship without a crew. There are several time windows into 18th century France where one Madame de Pompadour is being watched by the clockwork beings who are running the ship. The Doctor saves Madame de Pompadour (having a brief yet strong romance with her) and they go off to the next adventure, which starts off with an explosion. When they land (read here crash) they find themselves in an alternate reality (Pete’s world). Here Pete Tyler is alive and flourishing in business (but about to divorce Jackie). Rose does not exist and Mickey is a bloke named Rickey. Together with Rickey’s crew and Pete Tyler, the trio defeats the evil genus John Lumic (who is turned into the Cyber controller) who has invented the Cybermen. At the end Rickey has died (Jackie and a member of Rickey’s crew as well) and Mickey decides he is going to stay in this reality to fight the Cybermen with Pete Tyler.
From there The Doctor and Rose go back to the correct reality and defeat the Wire (TV’s a killer I tell ya), and then onto the future and Sanctuary Base where they stop The Beast from escaping its prison. After all that Rose and The Doctor find time to stop an alien named Abzorbaloff and a possessed girl (by a being named an Isolus). The Doctor even gets to light the Olympic Flame.
Then came the story of how Rose died. Back on Earth Rose and The Doctor are paying a visit to Jackie when they find out that ‘ghosts’ have been visiting the whole of the Earth at regular intervals. After some investigating The Doctor and Rose trace the ghost shift to Torchwood London, making their way there in the TARDIS (with Jackie in tow). The Doctor and Jackie are taken prisoner with Rose being trapped in a lab inside of Torchwood where she finds Mickey where something called a ‘void ship’ is held. As the last ghost shift is initiated, the Cybermen (hidden as the ghosts) make their way across the void to take over Earth. While in the lab Rose and Mickey see the void ship open and the Daleks come out of it, saying they will exterminate the life forms on Earth. The battle comes to a confrontation between Torchwood, the Cybermen, and the Daleks. While that is going on Pete and the other fighters from Pete’s world make their way across the void to help defeat the Cybermen on this Earth. The Doctor (thanks to a pair of 3D glasses) comes up with a plan to open the void back up and let all the things with void stuff (which he can see with the glasses) get sucked into it. At first The Doctor makes Rose go to Pete’s world with Pete, Mickey, the fighters, and Jackie in order to keep her safe, but she refuses to stay there, going back to where The Doctor is. They open up the void and while the Cybermen and Daleks are being sucked into it Rose has to secure a lever back into place to keep the void open and loses her grip. If not for the timely intervention of Pete she would have been lost to the void as well. Instead she is now trapped in Pete’s world without The Doctor.
Sometime later Rose awakes from a dream, hearing The Doctor’s voice. She convinces her family to follow the voice, it taking her to Bad Wolf Bay in Norway. There she found an image of The Doctor, who was transmitting to that location in order for them to have one last conversation. She tells him that she loves him but as he starts to reply the image disappears, leaving her devastated.
Of course that is not the end of our story.
