It was like a never-ending goose chase, and it was beginning to frustrate her. It was supposed to be an easy job; all she needed was to tranquilize the stupid alien, and bring it back to the person who wanted it. What they had failed to mention that the alien was actually a Bruydac, an ugly humanoid creature that possessed small psychic powers. A complete pain in the ass, in other words. For most humans, it would be hard to catch up with it, seeing as it was fairly tall, but seeing as Hadley was a super soldier, it was easy to catch up to him. The problem was, every time she thought she could get him, she would have a possessed human in the mix, and she didn’t need more blood on her hands. Sure, she liked to kill, but not unless she had a reason to. Hadley was seriously considering to kill the Bruydac instead of giving it to the stupid collector.
Rounding the corner, she had caught up with him again, this time in a small café. Luckily, it was in the middle of the night, and the café was closed so there really no people in sight, minus one here and there. Her hand caught his shoulder, as she tried to push him back, only to get hit in the back with one of the café’s metal chairs. “Damn possessed humans!” She growled underneath her breath, knocking the chair away easily. Her focus shifted to the human, her fist rearing back before punching the human male in the face, knocking him out and taking care of the psychic link. Her gray eyes once again returned to the Bruydac, another growl emitting from her lips. “You are seriously starting to piss me off!”
Tilting her gun towards him, the humanoid took another step back before ducking around another corner, and she was on the chase again. This job was different though. Normally, her jobs just paid her with loads of cash. If she manages to catch the Bruydac and give him to the collector, she would get information. Information she needed to keep herself hidden from the agency looking for her. She didn’t want to go back to being a super soldier. She wanted to be normal. As normal as any thief with super powers could be. But never-the-less, her attention remained on the creature, unaware that another group had their own sight set on capturing it as well. Who’s up for a bit of competition?

Owen came running and smashing in the scene. He had his gun out, and he heard Toshiko yell him he was at the location of the alien. But Owen saw the human and a human chase. Owen quickly questioned Toshiko as he chased down the woman who was chasing the human. It all happened fast. First the Bruydac possessed the man looked human. Lack of knowledge, and had not read the book but did the research to understand the creature.
Feeling nausea and sick, Owen felt his head go fuzzy and he blinked. The human man had a quick glance at Owen, shoved Owen aside. Owen saw the world in a blur he placed his hand up against the wall. He could hear Toshiko yelling the creature is where Owen was. That’s when Owen lost it. The Bruydac was in him and he smiled and walked away. It was a quick transfer for the Bruydac. It had done a leap, left the old body. The Bruydac was in a different body. It was not like any it had before. It was different.
Bruydac needed to leave but see it could hide in this body because it was different. And what the Bruydac was learning from the Owen was very interesting and plus it sensed other aliens. It sensed the Weevils much better. Its empathic multiplied Owen’s empathy to the Weevils. But when Bruydac leave Owen’s body, Owen would loose that multiplied power.
The Bruydac/Owen gave chase to the Bruydac’s last host. It heard Toshiko telling Owen a short cut to catch up. There was a last drop of Bruydac in the last body it won’t last long. The Bruydac made Owen smiled and ran after the last host.
“STOP!” Bruydac/Owen yelled as they came back to the scene where Hadley was and the last host was running. Bruydac/Owen pulled the gun out, pointing it at the old host who still had small remains in of the Bruydac. “I do mean it!” The Bruydac was playing an act. It was testing if Owen’s body was hiding itself. Again, lack of knowledge of reading the book and used what research I had gained.
