It had been almost three weeks since he last stepped foot into the hub, had seen any of his team. It was his own doing though and now he was ready to face whatever may come from that. No one was around at the moment, he had waited until they left to come in.
Not wanting to face Jack in person with everyone around. He found his way down to the cells and sat outside beside any empty one, his back leaning against the wall. His head was hung, resting in his arms for the moment.
He couldn't keep doing this, he needed to deal with this before it killed him. This job was everything for him and he missed his family. Daniel took off and did what he did second best, living in the outdoors. It was the last place anyone would look for him. However he had been back for a week but spent the last week trying to work the courage up to face Jack. The last thing he wanted was a pissed of Captain Jack Harkness dealing with him but that is what he was worried about getting. There was also the fear of being locked in a cell for the rest of his life.
That was one thing Daniel knew he could not handle. Being trapped in a small space with no way to get out. He could recall the time he had to recuse a little kid from a well. It was hard and he almost had a panic attack from having to work in that small space. It was rough and thoughts of being stuck in a cell because of what he was, wasn't something he could handle..
His eyes looked over at Janet who was pacing around her cell. "Might not be alone down here anymore. Chances are good you will have some company..."
What had drove Daniel away was the fear that Owen had drove into him... the worry of what might happen to him. He wondered if Ianto had told Jack what was going on. He knew the other man promised not to share the results of what happened and Daniel trusted Ianto with his life.
Anyone who knew of Daniel's past would see that the Doctors and military had done nothing to help him out. That there had been a series of lies and broken trust. Which left Daniel with a hard time of trusting others or letting them close. Those who knew that would understand why he had runaway from this.
His eyes closed falling asleep there. But it wasn't a soild sleep and the nightmares were the reason why. After a few hours passed of him trying to rest, sounds of footsteps were what woke him up. He heard them moving closer to where he was.
