Lattex gloves, yes, Owen carried them with him. He even carried condoms too. He gives himself shots for against diseases. He has casual sex partners and he goes under procedure to protect himself.
Yes, there is always a high risk contracting a disease or having higher chance to get prostate cancer. He had not cared much. He had done procedures and it was sexual entertainment for him. He needs that pleasure. He was human with emotions. He need escape from the pains with his life. Like the loss of Katie Russell. He had not a good relationship with his parents. He is a doctor with a messed up past. You thought doctor's would have a great family past. But Owen did not. Sorry kids.
Owen heard the handsome comment. But Owen did not take it to heart. David wasn't a lady. Than Owen would. Though Owen would appreciate the compliment. Compliments are welcome by anyone. It was nice to be noticed. To be recognized and be appreciated. To hear someone say I am proud of you. You changed my life. Those are words Owen die for.Say any of those phrases you might get a bad side of Owen. Why? Maybe he doesn't want you to think he's soft. The family trait he got from his own mother. Owen had not seen that yet. He might never understand it. He can help others see it. He was made to help people around him. Yea, just to hear a loved one say they love you and be comforted. He looked at Captain Jack Harkness like a brother he never had. It was almost like a father relationship. That was why Owen liked Torchwood a lot. They were his ONLY family he will ever have.
"Free of charge," he said. Owen looked at the man. And wondered the man would make it to his place safely. Owen removed the latex gloves and toss them in a trash bin. He turned the water on the sink and started to wash his hands. "I need to be sure you get home safely. Consider you be discharged from my car at your doorstep. But no wheelchair service at this time. And better be the last."

David wasn't the type to go around sleeping with people or doing anything of that nature. The only thing he carried with him all the time was that old watch. When it came down to it David didn't have anyone close to him that he could turn to or anything that would grow into something more.
In his old life before the Time War, he had friends and a wife. He was a much different man and then the war broke him along with killing his family to save them. Now hidding as a human left him unsure of himself. Second guessing himself and afraid to get close to anyone because of what they thought of him or what they might think. As for Owen... it was different. David seen a man in Owen that he could trust and maybe have a friend in.
He watched Owen, wondering more about him and what kind of left he led. "Haven't felt like this much like crap... well maybe a year ago but I was worse off than this... And I really owe you one." David would still find a way to repay Owen for this even if he said it was free of charge. Being hurt wasn't something that happened all that much to him.
"You really don't need to do that... I don't live that far away and should be fine..." For once, he didn't want to be alone but he had a feeling that he was wasting his time. Something told him that Owen was much of a loner as him. "Don't think I will be drinking for a while.. so don't worry about it happening again" David finally stood up and moved away from the sink feeling a little better.
David look at Owen for a moment. "Hope we meet again... It felt good to have someone to talk to" David slowly walked towards the bathroom door. Not sure if Owen would follow and hold up to making sure he got home safe

"Owe me nothing," Owen said. "We doctors care and heal. That's our duty. If you want to pay me back. Take care of yourself," Owen said that and meant every word. He was serious about it. Doctors like to be in business but it's not good to see the same patient coming back for more shots or diagnosis cause of liver failure. Some Owen's colleagues could argue on that topic. It was a challenge to fight a disease. Yes, that would be true. Owen will say. He had this typical conversation with other doctors. Yes, it pays the bills so the hospitals can pay for their paychecks. Being a doctor can lead to a leisure life but it has a price. Especially when you lose a life. Owen hates losing a life to death.
"Woa, I take you home. I got some mates out there will likely take a tear at you," Owen said. Helping the man out. And there they were, the Weevils. Five of them all snarling in the shadows. Owen looked at them. "Maybe I get you a Taxi," he signalled for a Taxi.
A taxi pulled up, Owen helped David to the taxi. "Take this man home," Owen told the man. "Quick!" Owen stood to see what David going to do. Owen did not want the gods be mad at him for pushing a fellow citizen in a taxi. But the Weevils are staying in the shadows. It seems the taxi made them stay away.

David gave a slight nod of his head to Owen's words. Taking care of himself was something that he did rather well. Then again, how risky was the life of a teacher? It wasn't like he was on the front lines anymore. Sure he still had a duty to the military but he wasn't medical cleared to be in active duty at the moment. "That is something I can do.. Can't make promises about sleeping well though." Even though he tried to sleep at night often times he was awoke by the dreams and then would spend a while writting the dreams down or drawing what he seen. It was his way of trying to figure out what was going on with those dreams and trying to connect the dots.
Besides the memory loss, he was a clean bill of health. Well besides the concussion he could have now. But that would be gone in a few days and he would be back being that clean bill of health. He couldn't recall being sick before or having gone to the doctors outside the military. It was something he wanted to avoid doing. When Owen spoke about having some mates outside that wanted to tear him at him, he raised a brow as he turned his head to look back at the toehr man. "Um.. why would your mates want to do that? It's not like I kicked your butt or took your money." He said, not even thinking about what Owen said earlier about the aliens and that man dressed up as some kind of creature.
When they got outside, he heard the snarling and turned around quickly before the taxi pulled up and he was shoved into it. Once inside, he told the taxi drive to just take off without him that he needed to do something else before he thought of going home and he slide out the other door. Standing in the street as the taxi pulled away. "Look Owen, I don't know what you are up against or who is after you but I am trained not to leave a man behind. The man in my dreams may have been a coward and would run away but I am not a coward." He said, swallowing hard. Sure he was scared and wasn't sure what was going on but he wasn't about to leave the other man behind.

Owen rolled his eyes in disgust as he saw David standing there after the taxi was gone. Shaking his head and muttering Jesus under his breath. Just what Owen needed a second body. Owen had a planned how to deal with the Weevils on his own. Jesus Christ he muttered again. "You are a wanker for staying," Owen told angrily at David. The man was not Torchwood and believes David can't stand on his own. "You are going to get us both killed." "Stay behind me," Owen said slowly as the Weevils started to hiss and start moving about. There are now ten Weevils. Owen figured more are coming. Why was that?
"Stand still," Owen ordered David. Owen pulled out his mobile phone. "Let me call a mate." Owen hit the speed dial on his mobile for Captain Jack Harkness, "Jack, I got a situation here. Can I have backup please?" Owen was not sure Jack got the message.
"So, lets all slowly move this way," Owen said to the Weevils and David. Owen was slowly walking scared for his life. He was trying to hide it. How can the get rid of the Weevils? He was not sure Jack got his message. "Are you a swimmer? I think they can't swim," Owen said. He was not all sure on that.
Walking slowly toward to the bay, Owen was hoping Torchwood could come by and assist them. It was night thank god. And there were not many people out. If there was they are drunk. But Owen had not the chance to get drunk. He wished he did.

There was no way David was going to leave Owen alone here, he wanted to be nothing like the man in his dreams. He didn't want to be a coward. Sure whatever those things were scared him and he was unarmed but it didn't matter. He didn't have that much faith in himself either way. A deep breath was taken as he looked over at Owen, hoping the other man had some kind of plan for all of this. "Well, then I am. But you are clearly out numbered. So tell me you have some kind of plan? Was he nervous and scared? More than he would ever let on. Something a soldier should have been shamed of. A hand came up and removed his tie and he tucked into his pocket before undoing the first two buttons of the shirt.
"Yeah, well at least you won't die alone." He said to Owen's comment about getting them killed. David didn't want that would be the outcome of this. He seen wanted to believe that both him and Owen could handle this. He moved behind the other man, keeping his eyes on those creatures. Waiting to see what they were going to do next. So far it was all hissing and moving around a bit. When he was ordered to stay still, he did so. Orders were something he knew how to spot and take. He didn't mind handing the reins over to Owen for now, though other times there would be a slight fight for control.
He stood there listening, wondering who this Jack was and how he was going to help him. Then he started to wonder how good looking Jack was and if he was his type. A slight shake of his head was given, knowning he shouldn't be wondering about those kind of things at the moment. When it was suggested they moved, he followed Owen like a lost puppy in search of a meal. "Not sure but I guess we will find out." Right now David wasn't looking for a dip in the bay. He knew at this time of night the water was going to be freezing cold. Now that he wasn't drunk anymore and starting to feel better, he wished he was drunk or at least had a drink.
His eyes looked toward the bay as it became closer. "So taking a swim, is the plan?" A deep breath was taken, trying to get himself to relax. A part of him, hoped Owen would tell him what was going on sooner or later. What these creatures where and what they wanted.

Owen really wished David was a smart man. Owen wished that David stayed in the taxi and gone home. Looking over his shoulder to the bay, “Yea, we will lose them here,” Owen said.
He pulled his mobile phone, “Before we make a dive. I got to make a call,” he said pressing one for speed dial for Torchwood. He heard the phone ring on the other end. “Come on answer the bloody phone,” he growled.
He looked back at the crowd of Weevils. The numbers grew because more came out. “What is going on?” Owen said under his breath. He looked over at David. This man was under his responsibility now. The Weevils all hissed and bowed before them. They where bowing again. Why? He knew it wasn’t David. It was Owen and he licked his lips.
“You need to stick with me,” Owen said. He could not afford to lose David now. David will have to be tended. Owen will need to recon David because no one should remember this. It was weird. Owen did not want the word get out about the Weevils acting this way toward Owen. God they do not need UNIT on this.
“David, I promise things will be okay,” Owen said. That was a lie. The answer on the other side was picked up by Jack’s voice mail. “Shite! Jack! This is Owen. I am back! Look, I am in a situation with the Weevils. There is a man here with me name David. We are going for a swim in the bay. Weevils are acting weird. So I am hoping you can pick us up soon. Oh, I think the Weevils worshipping me. We got to go,” Owen said.
“David time to go,” Owen said and he leaped off the dock. Owen went feet first, he felt the cold water hit him, and he felt sick. He kicked his feet to get his head to the surface. He saw a vision of himself in the water on the bottom dead. That’s what he thought. Owen fighting for air he swallowed the stinking water of bay. He was in a little shock. He had forgotten how to swim. It was one of those moments the brain short circuit and forgotten things. This was one those moments.
Four Weevils stood at the end of dock looking fearful at them. They hissed and slowly moved away in a distant. But they seem to be sticking around. David could notice they act little more scared at that location.

David was a rather smart man but he didn't want to turn into the man in his dreams. He also had values and beliefs, neither which would leave a man behind like this. He didn't care what the danger was at the moment, sure he was scared but he didn't want to show or to give into the urge of it. His eyes glanced over at Owen, doing his best to hide that fear. Not wanting to show the other man he was having seconds thoughts about this. Once again Owen was calling someone his phone, it was clear that the whole calling for hope wasn't going to work out.
The Weevils were something he wondered about and why they were here. What they wanted and why they were coming after him and Owen. He wondered if he would ever get answers for those questions but he doubt it. One moment, he was looking over at Owen then back at the Weevils and it was like their numbers grew. He wondered how many were really out there and how much worse this was going to get. "Looks like this lot want you to be their king." He joked when the Weevils took a bow.
Retcon, like most meds were deadly to David or would just make him rather sick. It was the way his kind was. Sure he had taken on a human body and no longer had a second heart, his body still did not handle meds well. The last time someone gave him an aspirins, he got rather ill and had to spend a couple of nights in the hospital. The doctors almost lost him once but was able to bring him back. They wrote it off as a serve reaction to meds. "I'm not going anywhere." He said after Owen to him to stick with him.
He wanted to believe things were going to be okay but he wasn't sure he could take that promise. There was too much danger right there in front of them at the moment. He listened as Owen, tried this Jack person again and ended up getting the voice mail once more. David watched as Owen took a dive into the water from the dock. He glanced at the water than back at the Weevils. He didn't like the idea of getting wet but the Weevils scared him more than the water did at the moment. He drew in a breath and then jump off the dock. The cold water giving his body a shock as he hit it. After a moment, he came to the surface and worked on catching his breath. Even though he was freezing at the moment and wanted nothing more than to get out of the water. "When can we get out of this water?"

Recovering from the shock, Owen looked up at the Weevils. The Weevils seem to watch Owen and David. Two minuets the Weevils turned away from the docks and left Owen and David.
"We can get out now," Owen said, swimming to the shore. Owen reached up, pulled himself up out of the water. There was no Weevils waiting for them. Owen offered his hand to pull David out of the water. Feeling he had gone through this experience before, Owen was spooked. Had someone walked over his grave? Owen sat there looking around.
Owen was tired. "David," Owen said looking at David. "You know you are mad. I never knew anyone who wanted to volunteer to put themselves in danger." He smiled at David. "You all right," Owen patted David on the shoulder.
"I am knackered," Owen said, closing his eyes to gather his thoughts. Owen quickly opened his eyes as the darkness spooked him. Owen sighed, reaching for his phone, he called Jack. Got voice mail. "Shite!" Owen yelled. "Stupid Jack!"
Getting on his feet, Owen started to walk. "We will try this one more time," Owen said looking over his shoulder. "We are going to get you a cab and send you home. No slipping out." Owen smirked. Owen felt David was under his responsibility. Sticking his hands in the back pocket, Owen had not a recon pill on him. "You owe me for that stunt. Can I go to your place?" Owen said thinking he needed to know where David lived. He had to recon the man later.

When it came to swimming, David was far from being anything good. In fact, he hated swimming and this wasn't how he wanted to end his night. He was freezing and his head was killing him. His eyes were watching those creatures afraid they would jump in the water trying to get a late night meal. David didn't want to be on anyone's menu. David closed his eyes for a moment trying to will his headache to go away. Wondering if he could have been more of a fool at the bar then again staying behind when he was told to leave didn't help his case any.
When Owen said he could get out now, he swam slowly to the dock before reaching up for the head. With Owen's help, he managed to get on to the dock. He kneeled there for a moment, trying to get his body to calm down. He was freezing and all he wanted was a warm bed and dry clothes. He made the mental note of not jumping into water this time at night never again. David finally stood up a few minutes later, holding his head with his eyes closed. "Not mad... maybe crazy but can I blame that on the concussion? Or the fact my head is killing me.." He said trailing off in his words.
"In my dreams.. all I see is a man who is running. In his eyes I can see fear and he knows that he is a coward.. I don't want to be like that man. Besides with my military training, we are trained to leave no one behind." He said as he looked at Owen. David hoped that would make some sense if any because to him it did. There was tired and worn out smile that was returned to the one he was given. "You are alright too. Just don't make jump into freezing water again."
There was a slight tilt of his head when he heard Owen curse after answering his phone. "Surprised that lived through the soaking in the water.. Must be some kind of phone." Pulled out his water logged phone and shook some of the water out from it. "I wonder if all this is covered in my contract.." He joked. Trying to find something to talk about to keep his mind off the fact that he was still scared among everything else. There was a slight nod of his head as he placed his phone back into his pocket. Hoping this time around, nothing would come out of the shadows when they had a cab.
"My flat is just a four room place, rather small. But I'm sure some of my clothes could fit you if you want to get out of those wet clothes.." His flat just had a bathroom, bedroom, living room and kitchen. It was barely big enough for one person and had no personal touches to it. Besides the clothes, food and furiature. There was also the journal he kept all his dreams and nightmares in along with drawings.

Stopping and listening, Owen looked at David. David seemed shaken. Owen let the man say what was on his mind. Owen felt David needed to get something off his shouldesr. Being a professional doctor, Owen had allowed his patience speak on what is on their minds.
Owen was spooked, what David said because that what Owen saw in the water. Owen had an image of himself running, leaping in the water and he was under water. It was like Owen was running from something too.
"Yea," Owen said, smiling to David. "I think we are all cowards inside. Running from who we are. Or what we will become." Owen had said those words to comfort David and himself. "But I am not really a psychologist.
"We all have shadows. We have an existence. A shadow is like what we don't want to face. But it is good to have that fear, I guess. If we did not have fear we will be doing things that would get us killed," Owen said, shaking his body with the water. Owen had noticed David was freezing more than Owen. It was cold. But was it that feezing? Owen figured David's nerves are reacting to the Weevil's experience. It would spook Owen to hell if he did not work for Torchwood.
"We can walk and talk," Owen said shaking the access water off him. He hated being wet. "The military can change the mind. You are lucky you can walk and talk and still function. Got all your limbs too. Some never come back alive. Some back mad. Some lose a limb. Some come back with no limbs," Owen smirked. "Oh, you better change the topic. So, you got a woman in your life?"
Looking around for Weevils, Owen felt they lost the Weevils for now.

Getting something of his shoulders wasn't something he did all that often. David usually held it in and brushed things off instead of speaking his mind when the moments called for it. He was a quiet man, one who didn't like to fight or argue unless there was no other choice in the matter. Tonight, well he was tired of being a coward and his military training kicked in. Those creatures looked like they could rip someone apart and he couldn't leave Owen to fight them on his own. However, the cold dunk in the water wasn't something he wanted. Cold wasn't something he liked being nor wet so at the moment he was more than uncomfortable.
Though he was thankful Owen had let him speak his mind and didn't give him much of anything back or even punched him. His head was hurting enough that he didn't need to punched on top of it. After all, Owen didn't seem like the kind of guy who took something like this kindly. David shook his head, the last thing he wanted was to be a coward. He was a soldier, the guy who ran into danger without a second thought. However his dreams wasn't something that gave him comfort, they were a curse and he wished they would go away. "I'm sure I would be a psychologist's dream come true." David knew that he was rather screwed up on the inside and there was no running from it.
David crossed his arms across his chest, trying to stay a little warmer as he listened to Owen speak about existences and shadows. "Either that or we are too stupid to know better." David joked, knowing what he had done earlier was beyond that. Maybe he was truly crazy and didn't want to face that let alone believe it. His nerves and everything else that was running on overdrive at the moment was keeping him running at the moment and he felt cold. If he had still been a Time Lord, then cold wouldn't bother him nor would all of this bother him all that much. However, he was a human who didn't like the cold.
When the subject was changed to the military, he was thankful for the change. He moved to walk beside Owen. "I wasn't in all that long. Maybe two years at the most before I was injuried.. I don't know if I came out as a whole person or not. Things are still kind of foggy to me and I get some rather bad headaches at times. But at least I didn't get my limbs blown off during the attack..' His voice trailed off as he looked around, wondering if those creatures would come back or not. David could not help being on the edge at the moment. "I have no one in my life. I used to have a boyfriend but things didn't work out so I enlisted in the military and been alone for almost four years now. How about you?"

Walking along with David, Owen was listening to the man. He heard a colleague psychologist said once. Everyone is a psychologist and don't know it. Owen looked at David. Owen was surprised how open David was about being gay. Owen nodded his head, he can relate on missing out on a relationship. He did miss Katie.
Looking around for any more signs of Weevils, Owen would force David to run. Owen would punch to move him if Owen had too. Punching would not help, Owen would shove David away from the Weevils.
"Well, I do the three favourite things," Owen said. "Drinking, shagging and sleeping," he said. "In that order. And sorry mate I am not into men. But my boss is and his tea boy." Walking onward, Owen saw movement in the shadows. "Seem they are coming back." "Let's walk faster," Owen said. "You lead us to your flat and we can see they will leave us alone."
While they are moving, Owen had decided to be open. It was an opportunity to get it off his chest. David will be reconed and he will wake up and forget all of this had happened. "Well, I was engage to Katie and she died from a difficult surgery," Owen said. Okay, he was able to open up. "But, I settle down and enjoy 'this' job hunting aliens," Owen said. He had decided to stick with the alien story. Owen figured he stay away from the Rift. "It was an alien that killed Katie," Owen said feeling sad. Owen decided to stay away from the alien that was in Katie's brain. David would only know the Weevils.

David wasn't sure what was going come out of this night or even he would even see Owen again but at least it was nice to have company for a little while. Too many nights had been wasted alone but he had no one to blame but himself for that. He had kept to himself and avoided making friends or just a one night stand. Maybe tonight would be changing point for him, maybe after this he would start to try and make friends. As for him being gay, he didn't hide or run from the fact of what he was. He was comfortable in his sexuailty and being gay, nothing was going to change that.
He wasn't sure how it felt to miss someone, to be in a relationship because he never had that. Didn't know of all the good he was missing out of and all those other things that came with having someone you loved with you. He could tell that Owen was still keeping an eye out for those creatures. David was trying to keep warm and keep his mind off running into those creatures again and wondering what happened to them. "Not much of a drinker as you seen and I never eben with anyone. As for sleeping, I don't sleep well or all that often. The military said it was a side affect of the tramua I suffered after the attack but its not the reason..." He trailed off, hoping not much more would be said of it. All in all, David was just a man lost and not sure where to turn or what he could do. "Never thought about it. Your not really my type anyways." He stuck his tongue out a little at the other man, showing a playful side that was often lost and pushed behind everything else.
When Owen said to walker faster, David picked up the pace the best he could which was not all that faster but it was helping to warm up a little. He wondered if the other male saw something that made him want to pick up the pace or to think they were coming back because he had not seen the movement in the shadows. When Owen opened up and drop the bomb about his wife dying and that alien was the be blamed for it David stopped walking and just stared at the other man not sure what to make what he was being said to him. He could see the saddness in Owen's eyes but wasn't sure what to say. The words 'I'm sorry' were so often over used and never seemed like enough to say to someone when they lost someone.
As he stood there, he didn't see the Weevil coming out of the shadows and tackling him to the ground. David cried out when the weevil bit down on his shoulder, hard enough to break skin and to send blood gushing out.
