Hadley had no idea what to do. She had never had these feelings before, and it left her greatly confused. She didn’t know the right thing to do or say. She wasn’t the type of loom over romance type movies to figure anything out either. Thus why she merely just stood there all uncomfortable like. Sure, she had been with guys before. However, she only had used sex as means to get what she wanted. She didn’t have feelings for any of them. This was new to her, and she was unsure if she liked it or not. It caused her to be all the more defensive, especially when she is being all weird around him. All she knew is that she felt even more safe when she was with him, and something else. Something she had really only experienced with her dog and nature. Addy was falling in love with him.
“Well I can handle you. Just have to smack you when you get all cocky on me.” She said, finally easing up a little, grinning at her comment. Yet even then she didn’t know what to do. A yawn finally escaped her lips, but she didn’t want to give into sleep again. What she had really wanted was to sleep with him, and not in some guest room. But she wasn’t going to let herself admit it, and definitely wasn’t going to tell him that either. She was snapped out of her thoughts when she had felt his hand on her shoulder.
Hadley looked up at him, biting her lip a bit and shaking her head at the prospect of a drink. As much as she wanted to drown her thoughts in a bottle of vodka, she didn’t think it was too wise to do so. Plus it wouldn’t really help her heal up from the poison that had been in her system. “I was thinking.. well.. was going to ask you..” She hesitated, rubbing her hand uncomfortably at the back of her neck. “If you wanted to sleep with me? Maybe we will both get better rest.” As soon as she said that, she withdrew from his touch. “I’m sorry. I don’t know what I am thinking. That’s the thing, I’m not thinking. I don’t get any of this stuff, or understand all these feelings. I’m being an idiot.” She huffed, a bit irritated with herself.

These feelings were something he had before but it had been a long time ago. They were something he thought were buried and long gone but these past few days.. or whatever it had been showed him that they were not. But he was fighting himself over it because for once, he didn't want her to get hurt because of him. Something happening to her because of him. He could tell she was uncomfortable and he didn't understand why he wasn't. Maybe it was one of things he stop feeling. Sure he used both females and males for sex, sometimes both at once or when needed something from them just like she had. This was different though, he found himself not wanting to use her. Ranger could tell she was being defensive too and it was one of the reasons why he was being careful around her and watching what he said at the moment.
"Hey now. You smack me and you might get more than you ask for." He said with a smirk biut another yawn took over. A hand came up and ran through his short dark hair before he rubbed at his eyes. "See what you made me do." Picking on her for the whole yawning thing. This was a different side that was out at the moment. But all that lightness faded away and he was his old slef again for a moment or two as he stood there against the wall. But when he had moved and placed that hand on her shoulder it had returned. He felt her snapping out of her thoughts and he wondered if he stepped the line there. But she she turned and looked at him, he could see and feel her nervousness there.
A part of him was glad she didn't agree to the vodka, glad she was doing what she could to take care of herself.. Ranger hated himself for feeling and thinking like this. It wasn't him and he couldn't help it.... There was just something about her that was changing him. When she finally got out what she wanted to ask, he stood there a bit shocked. Swallowing hard, he looked down trying to figure out what to do. It had been ages since he slept in a bed.. He usually passed out on the sofa or on the floor. Ranger couldn't even really recall what his bedroom looked like anymore. When she said she was sorry and withdrew from his touch, it snapped him out of his thoughts. "Don't be sorry and your not being a idiot. I don't understand any of this either.. Haven't felt like this since my wife... and that was so long ago.. " He lowered his head, wishing he never brought that up.
"I haven't seen my bedroom in a long time.. I usually just go until I can't anymore and just pass out. Can't tell you the last time, I truly slept in a bed." Ranger couldn't look up at her at the moment. He was still trying to hold back the tears.

Hadley had crossed the line. She knew she had the moment that he had mentioned his wife. She knew it had to be someone close to him that he had lost, but didn’t know exactly who. No wonder why he was defensive about his feelings, no wonder why he was broken too. She took another step back, this time towards the door. Addy opened her mouth to say something, but nothing came out, and found herself closing it again. She couldn’t let herself be involved with him. What she had asked, it had been out of line. She didn’t want to replace his wife. She didn’t want that at all. But it sounded like she did. Hadley had only known him for short amount of time, and here she was asking him to sleep with her in the same bed. Not about sex, just sleep.
She just wanted to get out of there, but like he had said, there was a storm coming. So she couldn’t leave. Hadley could just teleport out of there, but Ranger would just follow her. There was no way out of the rabbit hole that she had just dug herself in. So instead of running out of the door, she moved past him and hurriedly moved to the stairs. Running up them, Hadley locked the door to the guest bedroom, and took a look around. Drawing in a small breath, she got to work.
Her idea might have been given away by all the noise that was being created, but she wanted it to be a surprise. Since he couldn’t bear the thought of his own bedroom, she decided to transform the guest one into a master bedroom instead. Twisting the bars together on the two beds to make them into one big one was easy for her, as she decorated it to the best of her ability. As soon as she was finished, she quietly made her way to the door, unlocking it and finally opening it, knowing he would be on the other side. She took a step back so he could see. “Look. I don’t want to replace your wife, or any other memories for it. So I created a new one. I hope that is alright. If not you can just tell me now, and I’ll leave..”

Ranger loved his wife, she was the better part of him. And their son was the greatest gift anyone could give him. There had been a scare because their son had been born almost three months earlier and had been so small. Even given that hand, their son battled and grew. Ranger could remember how small he had been, how he could slip his ring down around their son's hand and then how fast he learned and how smart the little guy was. Those memories were all that kept him going these days. However when she turned to leave and as he stood there watching, just frozen that hurt. He had to swallow hard to force everything back down. For once in his life, he wished he was in better shape to move faster, to think faster in order to stop her from reaching that door but he couldn't even bring himself to move.
Hadley had no idea how much she already meant to him, what she was doing to him.. and he couldn't bring himself to tell her, let alone find a way to explain it. There was a huge part of him that wanted to curl up to her in a bed and just sleep. However there was still the part of him that was scared of the nightmares, the part that didn't want to deal with them. When she didn't walk out that door, he had been thankful. He knew how bad the storms could be here. Ranger knew that the storms could even screw with the vortex. These storms could last for days and often ended up getting down to below negative forty. Could enough for the trees to explode from the cold.
However when she turned to run upstairs, he headed out into the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of hyper vodka from the self and down a good size drink before sitting the bottle down. Then he turned and headed upstairs, doubting she would come out but he could wait up there until she did. Maybe it would show her something that he couldn't tell her. It sounded like she was tearing apart the room and he just shook his head. Not blaming her if she had tore it apart. He had been a jerk to her.. then again why was he caring about this all. Ranger had just started to pass out when he heard her voice. His blue eyes turned to look up at her, standing up slowly. He looked at the room then back at her having to blink for a moment before he would speak. "You could never replace her.. or any of the memories. What I remember about you... whatever happens between us won't replace anything.. just create their own thing." He said before leaning against the wall, closing his eyes for a moment.
"I don't want you to leave.. anyways it won't be safe to even teleport out of here when that storm starts in. I know I am damaged, broken.. whatever. Give me time and stick it out.. and I promise you won't regret it." He said.. not even sure why he said that or what had over come him. Ranger hoped that would make up for whatever he had done earlier.

That was the thing, Hadley had no idea how much she had truly meant to him. It wasn’t like she had experience with this before. Before, everything was simple. She knew the person that was to be the target for her job, or simply someone that looked wealthy or interesting enough to steal from. Usually it was easy to bump into them unsuspectingly, or even to play the victim in some sort of fake scenario. Once the initial meet happened, it was the same, bring them to the bar to get them so drunk, it didn’t take too much persuading to be invited back to their home. Usually it lead to sex, but in some cases it did not. Then when the person is good and asleep, thanks to a sedative that she had slipped to him or her, it was always a piece of cake to get what she needed, and got out of there, never to see the person again.
However, there was something completely different. She didn’t know how to act or respond to anything. Thus why she was simply uncomfortable and quiet most of the time. She really no reason to do anything, but the idea of rearranging the guest bedroom upstairs was simply something out of a whim, knowing that she couldn’t leave. Addy had hoped that it would be enough to stop the hurt from his eyes, and as soon as he had saw what she had done, she knew it to be true. Hadley never wanted to bring up his wife, or anything of the sort. It just kind of came out, the things that she had said. When he spoke of never replacing those memories, but to create new ones, she finally thought that she had gotten through to him. “I will stay as long as you want me to.” She replied, moving to reach for his hand. Hadley gently lead him to the bed, before sitting down on it. “No funny business, just figured you would want to rest up. That’s probably the reason why your shoulder hasn’t been healing right..”
(Sorry that its short, doing it from the school's computer lab..)

Ranger wasn't good at these kind of things and it hasn't changed at all. There had been a few times when his wife wanted to walk out on him and she did once or twice. Ranger couldn't help the flirting, the chasing after something that drew his attention. The danger and risk now in his life wasn't something he could control. No matter what was going on or where he was, there was always the chance of someone wanting his head or just to capture him. Ranger wanted to find the person who started the rumor that to kill a Nimbari, you had to take their head. It was something that always made him wonder what that person was on. The last thing he wanted was to ruin Hadley because of his lifestyle and life. It was going to be easy with him if that is what she wanted.. For him, he was too tried to fight or figure out what was going on with him anymore.
Whatever was going to happen between them, it would happen. This was like going through it all for the first time again. He had shut and buried everything long ago. Did his best to forget about it and just move forward the best he could. When it came to the family he lost, they were tucked in a safe spot within him that no one could ever take or touch again. So she had nothing to worry about. "Just stay as long as you want." He told her, knowing that he could never control her or force her to do something that she didn't want to do. If anyone could ever beat him in a fight, it would be her. She had everything in her to do just that and let's face it, he knew he wasn't getting any younger. His eyes looked down at their hands when she took his and he looked back up at her. There was a slight smirk and grin at her words. "Now who's mind is in the gutter?" He asked. If he wanted to do something along those lines, he knew he could and that she would change her mind about that without a second thought.
"I'm rather sure my whole body isn't healthy as it should be or any of my wounds have healed like they should. I stopped caring about things. Got injuried, continued moving forward without pausing or looking back." Ranger was thankful that he had not broken any bones yet. Those could easily sideline him up to six months. Not to mention it was beyond painful and he would need a pressure cast.. not a normal one. However he knew of a story.. legend that had him worried about breaking his leg and ribs.. It wasn't something he wanted to think about at the moment. So he pushed those thoughs back and moved into the room. Ranger moved to unbutton his shirt and changed the bandages on his shoulder which was now soaked with blood much like the area of the shirt. The last thing he wanted was for blood stain the bed.

“As long as I want?” Hadley questioned with a slight tilt of her head. A smirk spread across her lips. “You really shouldn’t of said that, you will probably getting annoyed of me within just twenty four hours and wish that you could take that offer back.” That was the old Hadley, back again, trying to make everything less uncomfortable. When he commented about her mind being in the gutter, she couldn’t help but laugh at the thought. “Hey now, I’m not as bad as you are.” She commented, sticking out her tongue at him when she lightly sat down on the bed. It wasn’t the most comfortable in the world, at least not compared to her bed. But it will do, at least until the storm was over and she could teleport safely out of there. As if she wanted to leave, Hadley kind of liked the cabin.
“You can’t just keep going like that. Ranger, You’re not immortal, I understand you hurt so much that you want death. But..” She trailed off before looking at him. “for me.. please just, don’t do anything I wouldn’t do..” She said with a small smile, before her eyes watched him as he unbuttoned his shirt. The wound was still bleeding, and he tried to change his bandages. Immediately, she was up to help him without really saying anything. Moving to get something to wipe down the blood she moved to close up the stitches once more, waiting to make sure that it stopped bleeding before wrapping it up again. Her hand lightly rested against his chest, just below the wound. “There.. good as new..” She mumbled, her hand grazing against his scars with a soft touch, Hadley’s eyes seemed fixated on him.

Ranger gave a slight nod of his head at her questioning what he had said to her a little bit ago. There was a very faint smile when he seen that smirk of her's. He was sure that she would get annoyed with him first and that she would be long gone before he got annoyed with her. "Want to make a bet of that?" He said, trying to brush it off as nothing. Ranger wasn't the type to go back on his word even if he had no other choice. His word was all he had really left that meant anything to him. Though he was glad to see the old Hadley coming back, the one he knew the best and could figure out better. "I bet given the right time and moment, your gutter mind can be worse than mine." Ranger knew that his mind can be rather dirty most of the time but he could easily blame it on his kind. So it wasn't like he could change the way he was not with out nanogenes or something like that. "And you better watch that tongue or I am going to get it." He teased her.
Ranger was replacing the bandages on his shoulder and listening to her. He knew fully that he couldn't keep going like this, it was clear that his body was starting to break down and fed up with him. Death seemed like the easy way out of this and the fastest to get back to his family but maybe it wasn't what was meant for him for a while. Maybe there was something else that he needed to do and that is why he was still around. "And what wouldn't you do?" He asked, trying to avoid talk about this subject as much as he could. Ranger didn't like to talk about himself all that much. He turned his attention back to trying to change the bandage but before he could get far, she was over there helping him out. Trying to clean off the blood and close up the stitches. He just stood there watching her, not sure what he could do at the moment. When she was finished, he gave a slight smile and nod of his head. "Thanks.." A breath was drew in when he felt her fingers moving along his scars.
He swallowed hard before looking up at her. "Your going to start something if you keep that up." Each one of his scars had different stories behind them but it would be unlikely he would tell them.

When he asked if he wanted to make a bet of it, the smirk only grew. “Sure, I bet you on that. Better let you know now that I haven’t lost a bet yet..” She said, which was somewhat true. Mainly because if she did, she killed the person that she had the bet with, thus really making her the true winner. Yet Hadley wasn’t going to tell him that. Maybe there was one day that she could share all her secrets with him. But yet, she was still trying to discover her feelings for him. However, Hadley doubt that he could annoy her. What could he do? Flirt with some other girl? Didn’t bother her any, she kind of did the same. Besides, she would probably hunt down and kill the girl he slept with anyways. Wow, her mind had a lot of violence to it. “No I seriously doubt that. I mean, come on. I’m completely innocent.” She exclaimed, batting her eyelashes before laughing. Yes, Hadley had finally eased up to him once more.
When she spoke about him hurting himself, she was really worried about it. Sure, she did a lot of risky things, but nothing she couldn’t handle. If things took a turn for the worst, she got the hell out of there. That, and the fact that she could heal. Hadley partly wished she could give that ability to him. It was obvious that he was sore and hurt, but didn’t want to show it. He wanted to keep on fighting until there was no breath left in his body. Shockingly, Hadley didn’t approve. Perhaps it was the other side of her, the one that was trying to hold on to her humanity that cried out with the fact that she wanted to live. She wanted to live with Ranger. Now that was a scary thought that popped into her head, and quickly pushed it aside.
Hadley returned the smile after she was done patching him up. “Well apparently I’m a girl scout..” She joked, trying to snap out of the stupor that she was in. Addy assumed that most people would be disgusted at the sight of scars, but she was fascinated by them. Each scar meant a different story in a person’s life. Some people collect scrap books and pictures. They collected scars. Hadley had her own share of them, something that her body could not heal. The bullet wound that she got now will most likely leave a scar as well. She seemed pretty much into her own thoughts until he said that it would start something. Immediately she withdrew her hand, as if a child had touched the stove, and bit her lip. “Sorry..” She apologized, something she didn’t do very often. Shaking off the weirdness, she looked up at him. “So are you going to lay down or did I bend the bars of the beds together to show off my strength?” Hadley joked, and with a slight raise of her brow she moved to the bed to lay down in it.

Ranger never back down for a bet nor lost them. Whether he had to cheat or steal from the person in the end, he got what he bet in the end. "Never lost either and trust me, you don't want to go up against me." He flashed a grin. Knowing she already tried that once and he found the way to get a upper hand against her. Ranger never killed over bets or even harmed anyone over it. There were secrets that he would never tell her even if there was a day she would tell her all his secrets. Some stuff was just left buried and forgot about. Ranger wasn't sure what he really felt about her, it was like his world was twisted and then turned upside down. Ranger had other ways he could be annoying besides sleeping around, he drank heavily, didn't listen to what he was being told to do half of the time and just tended to take off for days, sometimes weeks.
When she said she was completely innocent, he had to laugh. Ranger couldn't hold it back and he just shook his head. "Yeah and I'm Santa Claus." He was thankful that she was easing up around him and joking like this because it made it easier for him to relax around her. Ranger often picked up on the energy of others and it affected the mood he would be in. Hurting himself was something he always done, it took away from the pain he was in and put the pain and hurt in another area. It was his way of dealing with things. Sure he was sure and hurt more often these days instead of not but he wasn't sure else how to make the hurt stop. Fighting was his way of life and he didn't know how to do anything else. This life he had now was all he knew how to do, the only thing he had left. It surprised him though that she cared but he wasn't sure what to make of it. Made this was suppose to be the second chance in life he had been told about.
"Yes, you are a girl scout. Bet you got all the patches and stuff." He said, joking with her and remembering the first time he called her that. Ranger was watching her fingers move along his scars, lost in the thought about them with his mind being in the gutter again. He was sure that his injured shoulder would soon bare another scar when it was healed. Not that he minded, they were like badges to him. A stories of how he barely got out of of trouble, of times when he was tortured and beaten. Sure he could have them removed and make them vanish but he wasn't for that nor cared about it. "No need to be sorry." Ranger moved into the bathroom and got changed into a black tee shirt and a pair of pj pants before coming back out to hear her asking about the bars and laying down.
"Getting there and you didn't show that off for anything. You know there is another tee shirt in there for you.. even a dress shirt if you rather that.. Its less bloody and most likely more comfortable to sleep in.. even pj pants too."

Hadley slightly tilted her head to Ranger’s comment. “Oh really, and what is it that you would do to stop me?” She questioned, the same evil little smile on her face. She liked messing with him, and the game of taking big seemed to make them both feel a bit more comfortable around each other. This was the real Hadley, not the nice little Girl Scout. Nice Hadley was a rarity, and it had to have a good reason. Mainly because she wasn’t brought up to be nice. She was brought up to kill and to move on, without any sort of emotion. But that fact that she was female, and had an odd sense of attachment to nature, her personality warped from one thing to another. It was like a constant battle of good and evil inside her brain. It happened so often, that most people thought of her as insane if one was fortunate enough to stay alive around her long enough. Needless to say, she had her own little set of problems.
“Santa Claus?” Hadley asked, a bit confused for a moment. “Oh, the fictional character that brings children presents only if they are good, otherwise they would have to bribe him with cookies?” She asked. She honestly hadn’t really experienced the ‘magic’ of Christmas, and the folk tales surrounding the infamous Santa Claus. She really didn’t celebrate holidays. Except Halloween. Hadley just liked to dress up.
He spoke about her being a girl scout, and she just grinned at him. “Sure, I have patches, but I’m not going to tell you how I earned them.” She commented, moving to sit on the bed as he went to go change into something more comfortable. What she was wearing hardly was. A pair of tight jeans, and a rather low cut top. It was made to flirt with the client, rather than to sleep in. Also the fact that her shirt had a nice hole in it with a huge blood stain that had traveled down to the leg of her jeans. But what was she going to do? Ask him to wear something of his? She could have, but the sense of cockiness would have left. She didn’t want to ask him for anything. It simply wasn’t her way. When she wanted something, she got it for herself, and didn’t ask for it by others. So she was relieved when he had offered to have a change of clothes.
She bit her lip, and just simply nodded. Hadley walked away for only a moment, to strip away the bloodied clothes, leaving them in a neat little pile on the shelf. Before changing into anything, her eyes went down to the wound, which had stopped bleeding and slowly begun to heel. Hadley drew in a small sigh, splashing some cold water on her face, before grabbing the first thing she saw and threw it on. A dress shirt, seemed more comfortable, seeing as that was usually what she wore to bed anyways, regardless if there was anyone with her. Coming back out, she managed to say nothing before sitting back down on the bed, a small yawn managing to escape her lips. Yet the only thing she wanted to do was get under the covers. She always hated the cold.

Ranger liked seeing that evil littel smile of her's even if this was the first time he had seen it. It showed him how much of a trouble maker she could be but also that she had what it took to stand up against him among other things. Messing around with her was something he could do easily, it was comfortable for him and wasn't touching anything personal for him. "Do you really want to know? Well if you do, don't expect to know because you are going have to wait and see." He stick his tongue out at her a little more. There was no real Ranger, no one part of him that was hus true self. It was all mixed together and that there would be a little bit here and there that would not be seen as often as the rest of him.
There was only one side of him to fear and that was the pissed off Ranger. When he was angry or beyond that, it was best to just avoid him. In that state, it was hard to tell what he would do even if one knew him well. There was no battle of good or evil inside of him, just the struggle to find a reason to live and to move forward when everything inside of him just wanted to stop. When she started to speak about Santa Claus, a nod of his head was given. That part of her made him think of a child and he found himself wondering what she was like on Christmas Day or if she even had one. It was some holiday he had seen on Earth. Sure Nimbaris had something that was close to it but not all that same. "Cookies sound kind of good at the moment..." He trailed off not really in the mood to eat even though there was stock of food tucked away in the kitchen. Ranger loved Halloween though, it was the one Earth holiday that he fell in love with.
Ranger chuckled about how she wasn't going to show him how she earn those patches. A part of him was sure he didn't want to know. "That's alright. I think I already know how you earn them." He grinned. When he come back out, he noticed she was sitting on the bed. Wondering if she was going to make herself at home besides redoing his beds. Though he could see that she was relieved when he had offered her a change of clothes. That told him, he would either have to tell her to make herself at home or keep offering her stuff until she got comfortable enough to do so. "This wasn't where my family lived... it was just a safe house. A place where I could escape if I needed to.. Never got the chance to show them where I had came from.. Besides this really isn't a kid friendly place." He told her as she was in the bathroom changing. Ranger had moved over to the bed and laid down, yawning. His back up against the headboard and he was resting his bad arm on his chest.
When she had came back out, he stood up for a moment before moving over to the fireplace and getting a fire going before turning the heat up some more with the small computer that was on the wall. It was just one of many around the cabin. They controled just about everything in the house. He dimmed the lights before moving back over to the bed. "You know, you can make yourself at home here.. for as long as you stay." He moved to lay back down after pulling the blankets down.

Hadley had always been described as a troublemaker. It wasn't that she went looking for trouble, it was just that in her line of work, well, it wasn't really on the good line of things. Then again, she really didn't know how to do anything different. She would never be one of those women that could settle down with a family, get a normal job, and go out on road adventures to see old crumbled down castles. Her life was anything but normal. So she assumed that was why everyone considered her to be a trouble maker. It was her personality, the thing she was showing Ranger at that very moment. She had her true self, the one that was comfortable and could be cocky and get away with it. Not the uncomfortable, not knowing what to do Hadley. The one that kept getting her breath taken away every time Ranger brushed his hand against her. She had to cast those thoughts aside. She wasn't some silly schoolgirl with a damn crush. She was better than that. And she was going to show it.
He spoke of Christmas, and a part of her wondered if he celebrated earth holidays. Did Time Travelers even acknowledge them? It was true that she was human, and lived on Earth, but she never celebrated any sort of holiday. Not even her own birthday. Well, she didn't know her birthday, but that was beside the point. "I have never celebrated Christmas, or any other holiday for that matter." Hadley took in a small breath, staring down at the bed. "In the facility, I really didn't have a concept of time or days. Don't even know my own birthday." She added with a small shrug. It wasn't like she cared. Who would get her a birthday cake anyway? Her mind snapped out of it when he had mentioned wanting cookies, which made her chuckle. "Do you have a thing for sweets or something?" She questioned, with a slight tilt of her head. She wanted to know, and a part of her wanted to know everything about him, even though she knew he would never tell her his deepest secrets. Like she was going to tell him hers.
Ranger had told her that she could make herself at home. To which Hadley simply shrugged before sitting on the bed next to him, not really laying down at the moment. "You've seen my home. Really doesn't take much to make me comfortable. I'm used to living with nothing." She replied, not really sure what to do now. She knew that he needed rest, but once again the uncomfortable part of her emerged. Could she lay next to him? Hadley wanted nothing more than to cuddle up beside him and try to get some sleep. Perhaps nightmares wouldn't plague her that night. Yet, she didn't really know if it was appropriate. Too long her life had been guided on one night stands, where she had sex and got the hell out. Now that she didn't have to leave, what were she to do now?

There used be a good Ranger, one who helped people out and fight those battles he believed in. But then he was killed and all that was left was a man who wanted revenge. Once that was taken, he had nothing left to live for and that was the Ranger that is here today. Sure he knew better but did he care about what he did? Not anymore, really. He did what he had to in order to get by or to escape from those after him. All the while, holding on to that death wish. However there was one thing that scared him and that he was hoping would never come true. It wasn't something he spoke about but he knew how silly the people would see the fear.
As for ever settling down again, trying to start another family? It was highly unlikely. The thoughts and wondering if they would be safe, if he would fail again.... All haunted him and he couldn't stand or go through each day. The thoughts, memories had already pushed him to that edge and it broke him more than anything else could. Add all those things together in the blender and there would be the final product that was him. The former agent who seemed cold and the only thing that he cared about was dying.
When it came to Hadley, he wasn't sure what was really going on there. He couldn't keep his hands off her, kept wanting more of her. It wasn't a crush because he would be all over her and acting like a teenager. Though he couldn't get rid of the feeling of how good she felt and how much he loved being with her on that level. Holidays were something he did for his son and wife, something the old Ranger did. After all, there was nothing better then seeing a kid light up and beam with happiness on those days. "When you have a little one, there is nothing better than a holiday to spend with them. Though the mess and sugar high afterwards is more than worth seeing them smile. He said quietly.
"Been through something like that myself.. It gets hard on you after a while when you are unable to know what day or how much time has passed by.." Ranger had been held in a cell for six months after his wife and son was taken from him. Tortured and all that fun stuff until he had escaped. "Can't remember my birthday.." He said, wondering how much they had in common. When you traveled all over the place and time, getting stuck in places for long period of time and being around longer than most. Things like that faded away. When she asked about the sweets, he gave a shrug of his shoulders. "Don't know, just like them." Chocolate was his favorite followed by Toffee. Both those put together were something, he could eat like their was no tomorrow. He wasn't sure why she was so interested in him but he had a feeling it was the same reason why he wanted to know more about her.
Glances around the room and shrugs his shoulders. There wasn't much there, sure there was a personal touch here and there but it didn't have much of a home feeling to it. Sure it had a comfortable feeling but that was it. "Give me something to keep me warm and dry and I can sleep anywhere." Ranger didn't like being wet. Cold wasn't something that bother him much but the heat could kill him or make him rather sick. Ranger wasn't sure he could fall asleep beside her or even stay here all night. It wasn't something he had in ages, he always left after sleeping with someone. His eyes glanced over at her wondering if she was going to snuggle up him or not. He couldn't bring himself to suggest or even take the actions to do it.
